65 Eligible:
- Enroll in Part A only or both Part A & B {without Social Security Benefits}
- HELP!! What is my application status?? CLICK
- If you are already taking social security benefits, then your Medicare number will be automatically sent to you.
- If you continue to work, you can delay Medicare Part B and Part D when your employer group plan is ‘credible coverage’.
- You have Guarantee Issue into a Medigap plan when you first turn 65; apply up to 3 months before or after your birth month.
- You can enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) when Part A & B are both active or
- You can enroll in a Medigap plan when Part A is Active.
Retiring After 65

- To avoid the Part B penalty, you should start Part B and Part D within 63 days of leaving your employer sponsored group health plan.
- Enroll in Part B only; If Part A is already started.
- You will also want to have a letter from HR confirming credible group health and drug coverage existed after turning age 65.
Under 65:
Disabled and eligible for Medicare under age 65 is usually run through the state medicaid programs. Not a broker service.
Veteran Benefits:
If you are eligible for VA or military benefits, you can also enroll in a Medicare plan. However it may not be advantageous to do so. Please contact us to see if you qualify or if it is right for you.
